WHEREAS, Butte County is strongly committed to promoting the economic and social
well-being and health of all children by ensuring non-custodial parents pay child support on a
regular and timely basis, and encouraging parents to provide their children with the emotional
and financial support they need; and
WHEREAS, child support services are available, without charge, to all County residents
through the Butte County Department of Child Support Services; and
WHEREAS, an improved child support enforcement program can help parents meet
their mutual responsibilities to their children and make Butte County a better place for children.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors
does hereby proclaim August 2001 as "Child Support Awareness Month" in Butte County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 1~'" day of
August 2001, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Dolan., Houma, Yamaguchi and Chair Josiassen
NOES: None

CHILD SUPPORT AWARENESS MONTH
