RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF FARM CITY CELEBRATION
WHEREAS, the prosperity and well-being of this community is dependent upon cooperation
and understanding between the two great elements of our society farmers and urban people; and
WHEREAS, the complexities of their individual problems and the divergence of their
activities have led to a lack of information and understanding; and
WHEREAS, this lack of information and understanding is being eliminated as each group
attempts to inform and understand the other in order that o~~ir American way of life can endure; and
WHEREAS, the Farm City Celebration Coi~nmittee is sponsoring many activities, including
an Estate Planning Seminar, Forest to Farm Teachers Tour, a Dog Days of Fall SK Walk/Run, F.F.A.
Career Breakfast, a Bus Tour. a Kid's Day at the Farm, various restaurants featuring special Farm
City dishes, and a Harvest Dance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board, on its own behalf. and on
behalf of the citizens of the County of Butte, designates the period of October ~0 through
November 17, 2001, as "FARM-CITY CF:[_FBRA I ION.'
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Board calls upon the citizens of this County to
participate in the .joint visits, and civic and social events, attendant to a successful FARM-CI`I~Y
CF,t,F.BRATION in Butte Countti.
PASSED ANll ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 23`~ day of
October 2001 by the following vote:
