RESOLUTION EXTENDING ANON-EXCLUSIVE CABLE TELEVISION
FRANCTISE FOR THE UNINCORPORATED AREAS OF PARADISE
WHEREAS, "TC1 of Northern California, lnc. currently holds anon-exclusive cable
television f-ranchise for the unincorporated areas of Paradise with the County of Butte
{"County"}, granted by Resolution No. 83-56 ("Franchise") on flpril ~. 1983; and
WHEREAS, ~l CI of Northern California, Inc. and the County continue to engage in
informal renewal negotiations in accordance with Section 626(h) of Title V[ of the
Communications Act of 1934, as amended; and
WHEREAS, the amount of time required to conclude negotiations and allow for public
review will extend beyond the initial expiration date; and
WHEREAS, on .Iuly 2~, 2001, the Board of Supervisors approved Resolution No. 01-
082 extending the Franchise of TCI of Northern California, Inc. through October 31, 2001; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to extend the current Franchise Ior an additional
period of time so that cable service to the public will not be interrupted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Franchise of ~TCI of Northern
California. Inc. shall be extended through December ~ 1. 2001.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 23rd day of
October, 2001, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Dolan, Houma, Yamaguchi and Chair Josiasser.
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
