A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING NOVEMBER 1.5, 2001
"AMERIC'A RECYCLES DAY" IN BUTTE COUNTY
WHEREAS, to focus the nation"s attention on the importance of recycling and the need to
stimulate the market for recycled-content products, businesses, industries, government agencies,
nonprofit organizations, and individuals have joined together to celebrate "America Recycles Day"
and are encouraging their employees, staff, customers, membership and all citizens to renew their
pledge to reduce the waste stream, re-use products and recycle this November 15th; antl
WHEREAS, participating in "America Kecycles Day"" is one way citizens can help raise
awareness about the need to reduce waste by reusing, recycling, and buying recycled products; and
WHEREAS, state and community leaders need to spread the word about the excellent
source reduction, recycling, and recycled-content procurement programs they have established, and
WHEREAS, Butte County is committed to achieving its source reduction, recycling and
recycled-content product procurement goals identified in the Butte County Source Reduction
Kecycling F~ler~ient.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Thursday, November 15, 2001, is hereby
praclaimeci as "AMEKICA KECYCLL;S DAY'" in Butte County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this U`~' day of
November 2001 by the fallowing vote:
AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Dolan, Noux, YamaKuchi and Chair Josiassen
NOES: None
