RESOLUTION IN APPRECIATION OF
THE CHICO ENTERPRISE RECORD
WHEREAS, Butte County receives over 5,000 allegations of child abuse and neglect
annually, and aver six hundred children are in out of home placement in Butte County in any one
month; and
WHEREAS. the Frank Watters Children's Trust Fund, a fund made up entirely of
donations from the community, allows Butte County citizens to make tax deductible donations to
help prevent child abuse and neglect when they pay their property taxes; and
WHEREAS, the Chico Enterprise Record, through their continued commitment to provide
media coverage, has increased the awareness of the community regarding the importance of
contributions to the Frank Watters Children's Trust Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors,
on its own behalf and on behalf of the residents of Butte County, wishes to send heartfelt thanks
and appreciation to the Chico Enterprise Record for their continuing support of Butte County's
efforts to prevent child abuse and neglect.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 29`'' day of
January 2002 by the following vote:
