WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors has established the ADA Advisory Committee
pursuant to Resolution No. 92-91, amended pursuant to Resolutions No. 98-13 and 01-024, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors desires to change the composition of the ADA
Advisory Committee by adding a member of the public to the committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Butte, State of California as follows:
1. Resolution No. 01-024 is superseded in its entirety by this resolution.
2. The Board of Supervisors fully supports efforts to end discrimination in employment,
services, and its programs against qualified disabled individuals.
3. "The Director-Human Resources is hereby designated as the County~s ADA
Compliance Officer.
~. The duties of the Compliance Officer shall include:
a. Assure County compliance with the provisions of the Americans with
Disabilities Act with regard to County employment, services, and programs.
b. Review and recommend amendments to the Board of Supervisors of the
County's Merit System and Personnel Rules to assure compliance with the
ADA.
c. Prepare an annual report to the Board of Supervisors of efforts to comply with
the ADA.
5. There shall be an ADA Advisory Committee. The committee shall be comprised of
the fallowing persons:
a. Director-Human Resources or his/her designee;
b. Director-General Services or his/her designee;
c. Director-employment & Social Services or hislher designee;
d. Health Officer;
e. Chair-Management Council;
f. Member of the Public

AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA) AllVISORY COMMITTEE
6. 'The duties of the Advisory Committee shall include, but not be limited to:
a. Providing technical guidance to the ADA Compliance Officer;
b. Directing periodic reviews of the County's buildings and structures for
ADA compliance;
c. Making Recommendations for physical alterations of the workplace
for disabled employees;
d. Other advisory functions as it deems necessary to assure compliance
with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California this 26th day of March , 2002, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Beeler, Dolan, Houx, Yamaguchi and Chair Josiassen
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
