ANDERSON WHEREAS, this Board expresses its appreciation to William E. Anderson for his 24 plus years of dedicated service to the Butte County Sheriff s Office and the citizens of Butte County; and WHEREAS, William L.,. Anderson was hired as a Deputy Sheriff by Sheriff Larry Gillick on January 28, 1978; and WHEREAS, William E. Anderson previously worked in law enforcement for Menlo Park Police Department and Alameda County Sheriff's Department; and WHEREAS, William E. Anderson was promoted to Sergeant by Sheriff Larry Gillick on April 26, 1980 and promoted to Lieutenant by Sheriff Charles M. Grey on October 5, 1996; and WHEREAS, William E. Anderson has earned Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, and Supervisory Peace Ofrlcer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.} Certificates; and WHEREAS, William E. Anderson has worked Patrol. Tail, Gridley Court, Investigations, Civil and Warrant Service, and has supervised the Designated Area Deputy Program, DARL, Officers, Crime Prevention, Neighborhood Watch Deputy Program, and COPS Program; and WHEREAS, William E, Anderson has received many thank you letters from citizens and other agencies, a Sheriff s Commendation Letter, Sheriffs Letters of Appreciation, and the 1989 Chico Noon Exchange "Officer of the Year" Award; and WHEREAS, William E. Anderson has served under Sheriff Larry Gillick, Sheriff Hal "T'. Brooks, Sheriff Leroy Wood, Sheriff Charles M. Grey, and Sheriff Scott A. Mackenzie. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors. on its own behalf and on behalf of the residents of the County of Butte, expresses its deep appreciation for the more than 24 years of selfless dedication and devotion given by William E. Anderson during his law enforcement career with the Butte County Sheriff s Office.
