NYLANDER WHEREAS, this Board expresses its appreciation to James M. Nylander for his 25 plus nears of dedicated service to the Butte County Sheriffs Office and the citizens of Butte County; and WHEREAS. James iVt. Nylander was hired as a Jailer by Sheriff Larry Gillick on October l 6, 19'76; and WHEREAS,. ,Tames M. Nylander became a Deputy Sheriff on August 20. 1977; and WHEREAS, James M. Nylander was promoted to Sergeant by Sheriff Hal T. Brooks on April 9. 1984, and promoted to Assistant Sheriff by Sheriff Charles M. Grey on January 7. 1991; and WHEREAS, James M. Nylander has earned Basic, Intermediate. Advanced, Supervisory, and Management Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O~S.T.) Certificates; and WHEREAS, James M. Nylander has worked in Patrol, Dispatch, Narcotics, and Investigations: has served as a Field "Training Officer, Reserve Coordinator, Special Incident Response Team (BERT) Member and Leader; has developed and supervised the first Butte County Sheriff s K-9 Corps; supervised the Services Division, written grants, prepared budgets; and served as the Jail Division Commander; and WHEREAS, Tames M. Nylander has received many Sheriffs Letters of Appreciation, and thank you letters from citizens and other agencies; and WHEREAS, James M. Nylander has served under Sheriff Larry Gillick, Sheriff Hal T, Brooks, Sheriff Leroy Wood, Sheriff Charles M. Grey, and Sheriff Scott A. Mackenzie. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors, on its own behalf and on behalf' of the residents of the County of Butte, expresses its deep appreciation for the more than 25 years of selfless dedication and devotion given by James M. Nylander during his law enforcement career with the Butte County Sheriff"s Office.
