HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-112~T 3F CALI~~R#~t .~,: ~lutian No. 02-112 RESOLUTION GOVERNING THE APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTORS TO THE RESOURCE CONSERVATION DISTRICT WHEREAS, on April 23, 2002, the Butte County Board of Supervisors adopted Reso':uton No. 02-062 forming the Butte County Resource Conservation District; and WHEREAS, it was specified in prior resolutions that the directors of the Resource Conservation District would be appointed by the members of the Board of Supervisors; and WHEREAS, it was specified that there would be 5 directors of the Resource 'or_servation District, one from each supervisoral district. NO~d, THEREFORE, BE I'P RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, as follows: 1. Each member of the Board of Supervisors shall nominate one director frem his cr her district, and each nominated director shall be appointed by the Board of Supervisors. 2. The term of each appointed director of the Resource Conservation District shall be four years and shall coincide and be coexistent with the term of office of the member of the Board of Supervisors who nominated him or her; provided, however, that each such director shall serve until his or her successor is appointed. 3. There shall. be no compensation for the services of the directors, but they shall be allowed reasonable and necessary expenses. 4. No director shall have a direct or indirect interest in the sale of equipment. material, or services to the District; each Director shall annually fill out a conflict of interest statement. 5. The directors shall elect one of their members as the President. 6. The directors shall establish their regular meeting schedule. 7. Directors shall be appointed from among the candidates who have filed an Page 1 application with the Board of Supervisors. Notice of. vacancy shall be posted as specified under Government Code §54974. The Board Supervisors shall appoint only applicants who are determined to have a demonstrated interest in sail and water conservation.
