WHEREAS, poverty, joblessness; lack of work experience; need for child care, lack of transportation, and the
need for education, and training continue to affect the lives of hundreds of Butte County residents; and
WHEREAS, Employment Services Staff are required to perform a multitude of tasks on a daily basis that
requires knowledge of social work, workforce development, psychology, community resources, business practices; and
WHEREAS, Employment Services Staff in Butte County are continually working to improve their knowledge
and expertise as they assist citizens to attain the skills and necessary support to move toward self-sufficiency; and
WHEREAS, Employment Services Staff collaborate with partner agencies to maintain superior professional
results and deliver outstanding services, as they motivate and encourage citizens of Butte County who face major
barriers to employment and self-sufficiency; and
WHEREAS, Employment Services Staff are assisted in the performance oftheir duties by a variety of highly-
skilled Administrative Support and Supervisory staff; and
WHEREAS, Employment Services Staff in Butte County promote a superior level of service to the citizens of
Butte County and to fellow workers by providing excellent customer service while preserving the dignity of children,
families and adults; and
WHEREAS, The citizens of Butte County recognize the important services provided by the Butte Community
Employment Centers to the citizens throughout our county.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors that the county honor
its Employment Case Managers, Supervisors, and Administrative Support staff by proclaiming June 24 -June, 28, 2002
as Employment Services Staff Recognition Week in Butte County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 25th day of June 2002 by the following vote:
