RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF PATRICIA CONKLIN, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF THE BUTTE COUNTY FAIR WHEREAS, Patricia Conklin was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Butte County Fair in February 1998; and WHEREAS, since assuming her position, Patricia has shown diligence in fiscal policy and oversight; and WHEREAS, the Butte County Fair received an "A" performance ranking by the State Department of Fairs and Expositions. An "A" ranking allowed the Fair to receive an extra $55,000 to spend on capitol improvements, safety, and training; and WHEREAS, Patricia was instrumental in obtaining a grant from the Gity of Gridley for a new filtration system for County Service Area No. 34 -Gridley Swimming Pool. WHEREAS, during her tenure, over a half million dollars worth of improvements have been made to the fairgrounds, including new ramps and sidewalks, a new tractor and copy machine, a new roof on Expo Hall, new restroom, new electric panel in grandstands, R.V. hook- ups in livestock area, new asphalt at old hog barn arena, tree trimming of 117 trees, re-roof of Director's Building and Administration Building, repair/re-build of Director's Building, replacement of fairground doors and hardware to be ADA compliant, remodel of Director's Building restrooms and Farmer's Hall restroom to be ADA compliant, new restroom roof and repair of main fairgrounds restroom, underground water project in livestock area and Expo Plaza, electric project on Whitaker Drive and Expo Plaza. Also, she has secured the funds for new bleachers in the livestock area, a retrofit of bleachers in the courtyard stage area, and a sewer hook-up for the carnival restroom.. Patricia has done all of this without the use of the County's or the Fair's funds. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Butte County Board of Supervisors recognizes with sincere appreciation the accomplishments and contributions made by Patricia Conklin to the Butte County Fair.
