RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT FUNDING
FROM THE STATE WATER RESOURCES CONTROL BOARD
UNDER THE COSTA-MACHADO WATER ACT OF 2000 (PROP 13)
WHEREAS, in February 2001 the Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to seek
funding of $168,871 under the Costa-Machado Water Act of 2000 for the Cherokee
Watershed Water Quality Investigation project in cooperation with the Cherokee
Watershed Group; and
WHEREAS, in May 2001 the State Water Resources Control Board voted unanimously
to award funding under the grant application submitted by the Department of Water and
Resource Conservation; and
WHEREAS, the County has received notification that funding in the amount of
$168,871 has been awarded to the County for this project and has worked with the State
Water Resources Control Board to develop the Scope of Work f`or this project; and
WHEREAS, the Water Resources Control Board requires a Resolution of Acceptance
from the County to initiate the contract development process to receive such funding;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE iT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors:
1. The County accepts funding of $168,871 under the Costa-Machado Water Act of
2000 for the Cherokee Watershed Water Quality Investigation project as
described in the grant application submitted to the State Water Resources Control
Board in February 2001;
2. Authorize Ed Craddock, Director of the Department of Water and Resource
Conservation to sign the appropriate documents on behalf of the County.
3. Such funding will be budgeted in the 2002103. 2003/0 and 2004105 budgets and
the project will begin November 15, 2002.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this
27th day of August 2002 by the following vote:
