HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-195RESOLUTION ADOPTING A STANDARD OF AID FOR GENERAL ASSISTANCE PURSUANT 'TO WELFARE AND INSTITUTIONS CODE SECTION 17000.5 WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors for the County of Butte has adopted a standard of aid for General Assistance pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code Section 17000.5; and WHEREAS, Welfare and Institutions Code Section 17000.5 permits the Board of Supervisors to annually adjust the standard of aid for General Assistance to reflect increases and decreases in the maximum aid level in the County under the Ca1WORKs program, commencing with 62°l0 of the Federal. Poverty Level effective 9/91; NOW, THEREFORE, BE I'I' RESOLVED as follows: That the County of Butte adopt as a standard of aid and care for General Assistance the amounts as stated on attachment A to this resolution; "That the amounts set forth in attachment A reflect the standard of aid and care permitted by Welfare and Institutions Code Section 17000.5 as adjusted heretofore by increases and decreases in the maximum aid level in the Ca1WORKs program from 1991 to present; That the amounts set forth in attachment A reflect a further reduction in the General Assistance standard of aid in the amount of forty ($40) dollars for all applicants or recipients receiving Medi- cal or County Medical Services Program benefits as permitted by Welfare and Institutions Code Section 17000.5; Nothing contained in this resolution is intended to affect the right of the County of Butte to implement in any manner permissible by law or subject to discretion of the Board of Supervisors any change in law effective after the date of this resolution which permits counties to further adjust or eliminate General Assistance aid levels. (Regulation Page 2 of 2} b. Twenty percent if the applicant or recipient shares housing with two other persons. c. Twenty five percent if the applicant or recipient shares housing with three or more other persons. 2. Items of need being provided by others shall not be allowed in the General Assistance grant. 3. Persons having shelter, utilities, and food provided by others shall not be eligible for General Assistance. 4. Boarding Home Care (non-medical facility) shall not exceed the following allowance: Grant Level $277.00 Care and Supervision $155.00 T(7TAL $432.00
