RESOLUTION REQUESTING APPROVAL TO APPLY FOR A HIGH INTENSITY
DRUG F,NFORCEMF,NT (HIDE) GRANT
WHEREAS, the Probation Department has been the recipient of grant funds from the
California Office of Traffic Safety for the past three years for the purpose of supervising
individuals that have been arrested for driving under the influence, and preventing further
alcohol-related offenses from occurring. The program has been extremely successful; and
VYHEREAS, the Office of Traffic Safety is accepting applications for funding the fiscal
years 2003-2005; and
WHEREAS, the Probation Deparnnent feels the citizens of Butte County would benefit
if the program could continue; and
WHEREAS, the grant application requires that the Board of Supervisors adopt a
Resolution authorizing the Probation Department to apply for the grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors
recognizes the benefit of the aforementioned program and hereby authorizes the Probation
Department to apply for a grant from the Office of Traffic Safety for the period July 1, X003 --
June 30, 2005.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 14th day of
January 2003 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Houx, Josiassen, Yamaguchi and Chair Beeler
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
