COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA '•..~Zy.,,„,,,.a~ +~`. Resolution No. 03-009 •~••iCOU~••~•. RESOLUTION IN APPRECIATION OF KHSL WHEREAS, Butte County receives over 5,000 allegations of child abuse and neglect annually, and over six hundred children are in out of home placement in Butte County in any one month; and WHEREAS, the Frank Watters Children's Trust Fund, a fund made up entirely of donations from the community, allows Butte County citizens to make tax deductible donations to help prevent child abuse and neglect when they pay their property taxes; and WHEREAS, KHSL, through their continued commitment to provide media coverage, has increased the awareness of the community regarding the importance of contributions to the Frank Watters Children's Trust Fund; and WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors recognizes the outstanding efforts of KHSL. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Buttc County Board of Supervisors, on its own behalf and on behalf of the residents of Butte County, wishes to send heartfelt thanks and appreciation to KHSL for their continuing support of Butte County's efforts to prevent child abuse and neglect. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 14~h day of January 2003 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Dolan,Houx, Josiassen, Yamaguchi and Chair Beeler NOE5: None ABSENT: None NOT VOTING: None R.
