RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE FRIENDS OF THE ARTS, A PROGRAM OF THE
SO1C3 LTPSTATF, C011~IUNITY ENHANCF.RIENT FOCNDATION, AS TIIE LOCAL
PARTNER FOR THE CALIFORNIA ARTS COUNCIL'S STATE-LOCAL PARTNERSHIP
PROGRA~1
WHEREAS, Butte County had previously on March 26, 2002, through Resolution No. 02-044
designated the Friends of the Arts-Butte County as the local partner for the California Arts Council's State-
Local Partnership Pro~am; and
WHEREAS, Butte County would be eligible for state art funds should the County have an arts
council that meets the funding criteria of the California Arts Council's State-Local Partnership Program; and
WHEREAS, the deadline for applying for state funds was February 7, 2003, and the Friends ofthe
Arts, a program of the 501 C3 Upstate Community Enhancement Foundation has applied for funds on behalf
of Butte County contingent on recei~~ng the Board's designation; and
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Arts is eligible to apply for funds and has shown the desire and
motivation to merit being granted the title of Butte Count}~s Arts Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors does
designate the Friends of the Arts, a Program of the 501 C3 Upstate Community Enhancement Foundation as
the local partner for the California Arts Council's State-Local Partnership program.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 25`'' day of February 2003
by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Houx, Josiassen, Yamaguchi and Chair Beeler
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
