III RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE HISPANIC RESOURCE COUNCIL IN APRIL 2003 WHEREAS, the Hispanic Resource Council of Northern California was instituted in 1983 as a Latino grass-roots Civil Rights Advocacy Organization, to network among community groups, government social service agencies and private businesses throughout Northern California serving Latinos; and WHEREAS, The Council strives to promote understanding and support for Latino families, and to promote the involvement of Latinos in every aspect of community life; and WHEREAS, the Hispanic Resource Council has been recognized and honored by many community and government organizations for its service to Butte County, for its continued support of and commitment to the Latino community, for improving the quality of life in our community, and for promoting peace and understanding. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors recognizes and congratulates the Hispanic Resource Council on the occasion of its 20tH anniversary, and expresses appreciation for their service to Butte County. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 22"d day of April 2003 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Houx, Josiassen, Yamaguchi and Chair Beeler NOES: None ABSENT: None NOT VOTING: None ;~. - ,,y `, r ~ R.
