HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-063'~*SUP~ BOARL~- QF Sl1PERVISE~R COUNTY OF BUTTE; STATE OF CALIFORNIA Resolution No. 03-063 RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF DON RINKER UPON RETIREMENT FROM GENERAL SERVICES, CENTRAL STOREROOM, COUNTY OF BUTTE WHEREAS, Don Rinker, Supervising Storekeeper, announced his retirement as of April 11, 2003; and WHEREAS, Don Rinker began his career with the County of Butte on April 9, 1971, as Bookmobile Driver working for the Library; and WHEREAS, on July 31, 1982, Don accepted the position of Stock Clerk in Central Stores. On June 27, 1987, Don was promoted to Storekeeper in Central Stores. Don's position was reclassified as Supervising Storekeeper in Central Stores on April 12, 1991, where he has served Butte County for the past twelve years; and WHEREAS, Don Rinker has been a hard working, conscientious County employee for thirty-two years first as a Bookmobile Driver for the Library and finally as the Supervising Storekeeper for the Central Storeroom where he was required to be thoroughly familiar with supervisory, training and inventory skills as well as maintaining current knowledge of the United States Postal Services rules and regulations; and WHEREAS, Don Rinker has successfully supervised and trained volunteer employees through the General Assistance, Private Industry Council, Sheriff's Work Alternative Program and the Court Work Referral program. These volunteers have helped Don and his staff to process the outgoing mail for Butte County. Under Don's tutelage, numerous such volunteers received valuable basic working skills which they were able to use when they successfully transitioned to positions in the private sector or in other government agencies. Don has diligently worked in the best interest of Butte County for many years, earning the respect of his fellow employees and others involved in Central Storeroom activities in Butte County. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors wishes to express to Don Rinker sincere appreciation for his many years of dedication and service to Butte County, and further, wishes him well on his retirement. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 22°d day of April 2003 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Houx, Josiassen, Yamaguchi and Chair Beeler NOES: None ABSENT: None NOT VOTING: None R.
