RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING JUVENILE HALL COUNSELOR TIM ESPINOSA AS
RECIPIENT OF THE STATE MERITORIOUS SERVICE AWARD FOR LINE STAFF BY
THE CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF PROBATION INSTITUTION
ADMINISTRATORS, NORTHERN CALIFORNIA REGION
WHEREAS, Mr. Tim Espinosa has been employed by the Probation Department as a Juvenile
Hall Counselor since February 1998; and
WHEREAS, he demonstrates a level of care and public safety awareness which serves as a
model to others; and
WHEREAS, stellar abilities and selfless attitude are reflected. in his upbeat and enthusiastic
display of genuine interest in the well-being of the youth in Juvenile Ha11, even as is evidenced in his
sharing of his musical talents with the saxophone; and
WHEREAS, he is a highly-rated trainer and very effective in his role as one of the Probation
Department's Weaponless Defense Instructors; and
WHEREAS, his performance under pressure while on duty often aids in keeping incidents from
escalating into serious events, which same performance was evidenced while off duty when on the night
of July 2, 2403, Tim heard cries for help from a neighbor who was being assaulted in her home by an
intruder, and by bold action and disregard for his own personal safety he came to her rescue; and
WHEREAS, Tim Espinosa will receive one of four State Meritorious Service Awards for Line
Staff at the California Association of Probatian Institution Administrators statewide conference held in
Shell Beach, California, October 8, 2003.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors
recognizes Mr. Tim Espinosa for his exemplary work in the juvenile corrections field for the Butte
County Probation Department.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 9th day of
September 2003 by the following vote;
