BOARD O~ SU PE RVIOI~S~ COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA Resolution No. o3-t~s RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING THE MONTH OF OCTOBER AS "CRIME PREVENTION MONTH" WHEREAS, in 1984, the National Crime Prevention Council, the nation's focal point for preventing crime, designated October as Crime ['revention Month. WHEREAS, crime prevention efforts yield tremendous benefits in reducing crime and making Butte County communities stronger, safer, and better places to live, work, and play. WHEREAS, crime prevention activities such as Neighborhood Watch programs, [.)rug Free "Cones, and safety fairs help to educate the community on the importance of crime prevention and teach citizens how to flight and prevent crime in their neighborhoods. WHEREAS, when the public participates in and is educated about crime prevention, the Butte County Sherifi"s Ofirce is more able to fight crime and make our neighborhoods safer. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors hereby proclaims October as Crime Prevention Month. BE iT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Butte County Board of Supervisors recognizes the importance of crime prevention activities in Butte County and the significant contributions of community members who participate in crime prevention activities.
