WAGERRIAN UPON HIS RETIREMENT FROM WAGERNIAN & ASSOCIATES, INC. WIIEREAS, Dale W. Wagerman began his work for Butte County in January 1984 when the County hired Wagerman & Associates to provide advocacy services in Sacramento; and WHEREAS, Dale and his firm have provided legislative representation for the County, timely information, access to legislators, staff members, and other key oft~cials and organizations, and training for County staff on the legislative and regulatory processes; and WHEREAS, Dale's personal employment experience as a Budget Analyst far the Crty of San Jose, Budget Analyst for the Office of the Legislative Analyst, Deputy Director of the California State Association of Counties, and Deputy Director of the San Mateo County Health and Welfare Department provided him with a depth of knowledge about local government that was unsurpassed in Sacramento; and WHEREAS, over the years Dale has been invaluable in making sure that Butte County's interests were represented and heard even in the late night waning hours of a legislative session; and WHEREAS, in Butte County's darkest hours of near bankruptcy, Dale was a tireless fighter on the County's behalf pursuing bills and assisting in the acquisition of $11.1 million from the Governor of California to allow the County to keep its doors open; and WHEREAS, over the years, Dale's contributions to the County's fiscal health and well-being are too numerous to list but include the protection of the County's precious property tax dollars through the enaction of special legislation Co protect funds utilized by the County to pay for fire protection, implementation of the Teeter Plan, and the enactment of legislation to allow Butte County to use bond funds for architectural and construction management fees for the construction of a new jail; and WHEREAS, Dale has shown himself to be a person who possesses high integrity, great generosity, and a finely honed sense of humor, distinguishing himself from being just a contractor to Butte County, but a friend. NOW, THERENORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, on its own behalf and on behalf of the residents of Butte County, expresses its deep appreciation to Dale for the many years of dedication he has brought to his representation of the County and takes great pleasure in wishing Dale and his family a long, happy, and prosperous retirement.
