NORRIS WHEREAS, this Board expresses its appreciation to William M. Norris for his 27 years of dedicated service to the Butte County Sheriff's Office; and WHEREAS, William M. Norris began his law enforcement career with the Butte County Sheriff's Office as a Reserve Deputy in 1976; and WHEREAS, in December of 1984 he was hired as a full-time Correctional Officer. Correctional Officer Norris worked successfully in many different assignments during his career, including Patrol, Court Security, and Incarcerations; and WHEREAS, Correctional Officer Norris has been assigned to the Incarceration Division for the past 19 years where he has worked as a Transportation Officer, Utility Officer, and for the past three years has been assigned to the Sheriff s Work Alternative Program; and WHEREAS, after serving the citizens of Butte County for 27 years, William M. Norris is retiring on December 29, 2003. NOW, THEREFORE, BF, IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors, on its own behalf and on behalf of the residents of the County of Butte, expresses its deep appreciation for the unselfish dedication and devotion given by Correctional Officer William M. Norris during his career with the Butte County Sheriff's Office.
