RESOLUTION IN APPRECIA'T'ION OF
'CHE DISCOVERY SHOPPE LEAGUE, A CHARITABLE ORGANI7.ATION
WHEREAS, Butte County receives over six thousand allegations of child abuse and
neglect annually, and over six hundred and fifty children are in out-of-home placement in Butte
County in any one month; and
WHEREAS, the Frank Wasters Children's Trust Fund, a fund made up entirely of
donations from the community, allows Butte County citizens to make tax deductible donations to
help prevent child abuse and neglect when they pay their property taxes; and
WHEREAS, The Discovery Shop League, a Charitable Organization, through their
continued commitment to the community, has increased awareness regarding the importance of
cantributions to the Frank Watters Children's Trust Fund; and
WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors recognizes the outstanding efforts of
The Discovery Shop League, a Charitable Organization.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors,
on its own behalf and on behalf of the residents of Butte County, wishes to send heartfelt thanks
and appreciation to The Discovery Shop League, a Charitable Organization for their continuing
support of Butte County's efforts to prevent child abuse and neglect.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 16°i day of
December 2003 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Houx, Josiassen, Yamaguchi and Chair Tieeler
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
