HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-027~.. o~ ~svpE••., ~~ ~~~~ airy- ~~ • • ~•C ; ~. *~ r~~: ''~..~ ~~ ~N. ~~i••COUN*~i~~ BOARD OF SUPERVISORS COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA Resolution No. o4--oz~~ RESOLUTION FOR PARTIAL CLOSURE OF THE THERMALITO AFTERBAY FOR SPEEDBOAT KILOMETER TIMED TRIALS WHEREAS, the Butte County Sheriff's Office patrols the Thermalito Afterbay pursuant to a contract between the Sheriff s Office and the Department of Water Resources; and WHEREAS, there is a planned and scheduled speedboat timed racing event at the Thermalito Afterbay scheduled to begin at 6pm, March l 2, 2004 and will continue through 6 pm, March 14, 2004; and WHEREAS, in light of said event, the Sponsor of the event, Northern California Outboard Association and the Butte County Sheriff's Office has requested the Butte County Board of Supervisors authorize the public closure of the Thermalito Afterbay. The area specifically affected by this Resolution is the area between Highway 162 on the north and Hamilton Road on the south, Highway 99 on the west to the easterly right-of--way boundary, for the purpose of conducing speedboat timed racing; and WHEREAS, such public closure appears to be in the best interest of the public. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that exclusive use of the aforementioned Thermalito Afterbay body of water will be granted to the Northern California Outboard Association for the purpose of conducting "Kilometer Time Trails, and the public will not be permitted use of the aforementioned body of water on the aforementioned dates and times specified.
