RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE
CURRENT AND FUTURE USE OF BEALE AIR FORCE
WHEREAS, Butte County recognizes the uniqueness of Beale Air Force Base as the only Air Force
Facility whose sole function is reconnaissance, surveillance and intelligence; and
WHEREAS, Beale Air Force Base is one of the few -nilitary installations in the nation where its air
space, land development and broadband width is not encroached upon; and
WHEREAS, Beale Air Force Base is one of the few bases with year-round flying environments; and
WHEREAS, Beale Air Force Base has great deployment connections across the world; and
WHEREAS, Beale is a proven environmentally clean and safe base, where personnel work hard to
exceed environmental regulations for current and future missions; and
WHEREAS, Beale and the surrounding communities have adequate moderate priced housing; and
WHEREAS, there has been and continues to exist a strong community-base relationship, and
military personnel continue to make significant and valuable contributions to cultural, social and political
life.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board hereby expresses its strong support for
the current and future operation of Beale Air Force Base.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 9"' day of March 2004 by
the following vote:

NOES: None
ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
