RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE FRIENDS OI' 'THE AKTS,
A PROGRAM OF 1'HE SOIC3 UPSTATE COMMUNITY ENHANCIME:NrI' I10UNDA'I'ION,
AS THE LOCAL PARTNER NOR THE CALIFORNIA ARTS COUNCIL'S
STATE-LOCAL PARTNERSHIP PROGRAIYI
WHEREAS, Butte County had previously on March 26, 2002, through Resolution No. 02-044
designated Friends of the Arts-Butte County as the local partner for the California Arts Council's Stnte-
Local Partnership Program; and
WHEREAS, Butte County would be eligible for state art funds should the County have an arts
council that meets the fundinb criteria of the Cali forma Arts Council's State-Local Partnership Program;
and
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Arts, aprogram of the 50103 Upstate Community Enhancement
Foundation, has applied for funds on behalf of Butte County upon receiving the Board's designation in
2002; and
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Arts is eligible to apply for flmds and has shown the desire and
motivation to merit being granted the title of Butte County's Arts Council.
NOVV, 'T'HEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors does
hereby designate the Friends of the Arts the local partner for the California Arts Council's State-Local
Partnership Program.
PASSh:D AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 23"' day of March
2004 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Houx, Josiassen, Yamaguchi and Chair Beeler
