RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF GERALD HIGHTOWER
UPON RETIREMENT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
WHEREAS, Gerald Hightower, Supervising Road Maintenance Worker for the Department of
Public Works, announced his retirement as of July 29, 2004; and
WHEREAS, Gerald Hightower began his career with the County of Butte in 1967, as a Laborer,
in the Department of Public Works, advancing within the Department, to become a Supervising Road
Maintenance Worker, his present position; and
WHEREAS, Gerald Hightower worked as a Laborer, Dump Truck Operator, Road Maintenance
Man II, Road Maintenance Worker III, Road Maintenance Worker IV, and Supervising Road
Maintenance Worker in the Public Works Department for many years; and
WHEREAS, Gerald Hightower has earned the respect of fellow employees, engineers,
surveyors, contractors, and others involved in Public Works activities in Butte County, and has diligently
served the residents of the County of Butte for nearly thirty-seven (37) years with extraordinary
distinction and leadership;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board, on its own behalf and on behalf of
the residents of the County of Butte, wish to express to Gerald Hightower sincere appreciation for his
many years of unselfish dedication and outstanding service rendered to the residents of the County of
Butte, and further wish him well on his retirement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, this 13`h day of July 2004, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Houx, Josiassen, Yamaguchi and Chair Beeler
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
