RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING AUGUST 2004 AS
CHILD SUPPORT AWARENESS MONTH
WHEREAS, Butte County is strongly committed to promoting the economic and social well-
beingand health of all children by ensuring non-custodial parents pay child support on a regular and
timely basis, and encouraging parents to provide their children with the emotional and financial
support they need; and
WHEREAS, child support services are available, without charge, to all County residents
through the Butte County Department of Child Support Services; and
WHEREAS, an improved child support enforcement program can help parents meet their
mutual responsibilities to their children and make Butte County a better place for children.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Butte County Board of Supervisors
does hereby proclaim August 2004 as "Child Support Awareness Month" in Butte County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, on this 3"~ day of August 2004 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Houx, Yamaguchi and Vice-Chair Josiassen
NOES: None
ABSENT: Chair Beeler
NOT VOTING: None
