RESOLU'T'ION IN RECOGNITION OF GEORGE DALE CORBIN
UPON RETIREMEN'T' FROM 'T'HE DEPARTMEN'T' OF GENERAL SERVICES,
PURCHASING SERVICES DTVISION, COUNTY ON' BU'T'TE
WHEREAS, George Dale Corbin, Buyer II, Purchasing Services, announced his retirement as of
September 1, 2004; and
WHEREAS, George llale Corbin began his career with the County of Butte on September 11, 199,
as extra help in Purchasing Services; and
WHEREAS, on June 10, 1)91, George llale Corbin was hired to fill a Buyer position in Purchasing
Services. On February 5, 2000, Dale was promoted to Buyer II where he has continued to serve Butte
County; and
~i'HEREAS, George Dale Corbin has been a hard working buyer for almost tifteen years, making
sure Butte County purchased needed items at the best price. George Dale Corbin has purchased everything
from fire trucks to jai] inmate clothing. For the past twelve years, George Dale Corbin has coordinated Butte
County surplus sales and vehicle auctions to dispose of surplus vehicles and equipment. Also included in his
list of accomplishments, is the development of a database for tracking Butte County vehicles and equipment;
and
WHEREAS, George Dale Corbin has always been helpful and professional, and has diligently
worked in the best interest of Butte County for many years, earning the respect of his fellow employees and
others involved in Purchasing Services activities in Butte County.
NOW, 'T'HEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors wishes to express to
George Dale Corbin sincere appreciation for his -t~any years of dedication and service to Butte County, and
further, wishes him well on his retirement.
PASSEll AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 31st day of August 2004
by the following vote:
