RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION AND COMMENDATION OF
TED CRAWFORD
WHEREAS Ted Crawford began his fire service career with the Butte County
Fire Department in 1972 as a citizen volunteer firefighter, and,
WHEREAS Ted Crawford began his career as a Fire Apparatus Engineer
with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, then known as the
Division of Forestry, in the Butte Unit at Station 33 in Magalia in 1977, and
WHEREAS Ted Crawford was promoted to the rank of Fire Captain at the
Rainbow Conservation in 1985, and
WHEREAS Ted Crawford returned to the Butte Unit in 1988 where he served
as a Fire Captain in the Emergency Command Center, and
WHEREAS Ted Crawford transferred to the Fire Prevention Bureau where he
was adept at the many functions of the Bureau including plan checks, arson
investigations, public information, public education and 4291 inspection, and
WHEREAS Ted Crawford's duties were complex in nature with a steep
learning curve which he performed to a high standard of excellence, and
WHEREAS the performance of such duties, along with the respect and
admiration of his peers, earned him the "Firefighter of the Year Award" for 2003,
and

WHEREAS Ted has spent his twenty-seven year fire service career, bath
volunteer and paid, dedicated to serving the citizens of Butte County and the
State of California,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Butte County Board of Supervisors
recognizes and commends Ted Crawford for his outstanding effort on behalf of
the people of Butte County
The foregoing resolution was duly passed and adopted by the Butte County
Board of Supervisors.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 28th day
September 2004 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Houx, Josiassen, Yamaguchi and Chair Beeler
NOES: done
ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
