A RESOLUTION OF THE BUTTE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS APPROVING
THE ALLOCATION (PASS THROUGH) OF BUTTE COUNTY'S PER CAPITA GRANT
FUNDS UNDER THE CALIFORNIA CLEAN WATER, CLEAN AIR, SAFE
NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS, AND COASTAL PROTECTION ACT OF 2002
WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the Per Capita Grant
Program which provides funds for the acquisition and development of neighborhood, community
and regional parks and recreation lands and facilities; and
WHEREAS, the California Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the
responsibility for the administration of the grant program, setting up necessary procedures; and
WHEREAS, on October 26, 2004, the Board of Supervisors approved a Resolution
certifying the Board of Supervisors' approval for Butte County to apply for the Per Capita
Allocation; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors desires to share $1,133,086 of its $1,200,000
allocation of 2002 Resources Bond Act (Proposition 40) Per Capita Grant Funds with eligible
cities and park and recreation districts located within the geographical boundaries of Butte
County; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors' approval of this resolution will initiate a process
allowing cities and park and recreation districts to submit their project applications directly to the
State Department of Parks and Recreation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors
hereby authorizes the Chief Administrative Officer to execute an amendment to Butte County's
contract with the California Department of Parks and Recreation to allow the pass through to the
City of Chico the amount of $188,373 in 2002 Resources Bond Act, Per Capita Program, and
reduce Butte County's total Per Capita Allocation under this grant program from $1,200,000 to
$1,011,627.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of
Supervisors hereby authorizes the Chief Administrative Officer to execute an amendment to
Butte County's contract with the Califotia Department of Parks and Recreation to allow the
pass through to the Town of Paradise the amount of $77,322 in 2002 Resources Bond Act, Per
Capita Program, and further reduce Butte County's total Per Capita Allocation under this grant
program from $1,011,627 to $934,30.5.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FUR'T'HER RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of
Supervisors hereby authorizes the Chief Administrative Officer to execute an amendment to
Butte County's contract with the California Department of Parks and Recreation to allow the
pass through to the City of Oroville the amount of $95,930 in 2002 Resources Bond Act, Per
Capita Program, and further reduce Butte County's total Per Capita Allocation under this grant
program from $934,305 to $838,375.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of
Supervisors hereby authorizes the Chief Administrative Officer to execute an amendment to
Butte County's contract with the California Department of Parks and Recreation to allow the
pass through to the City of Gridley the amount of $41,630 in 2002 Resources Bond Act, Per
Capita Program, and further reduce Butte County's total Per Capita Allocation under this grant
program from $838,375 to $796,745.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of
Supervisors hereby authorizes the Chief Administrative Officer to execute an amendment to
Butte County's contract with the California Department of Parks and Recreation to allow the
pass through to the City of Biggs the amount of $13,104 in 2002 Resources Bond Act, Per Capita
Program, and further reduce Butte County's total Per Capita Allocation under this grant program
from $796,745 to $783,641.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of
Supervisors hereby authorizes the Chief Administrative Officer to execute an amendment to
Butte County's contract with the California Department of Parks and Recreation to allow the
pass through to the Chico Area Recreation and Park District the amount of $188,373 in 2002
Resources Bond Act, Per Capita Program, and further reduce Butte County's total Per Capita
Allocation under this grant program from $783,641 to $595,268.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of
Supervisors hereby authorizes the Chief Administrative Officer to execute an amendment to
Butte County's contract with the California Department of Parks and Recreation to allow the
pass through to the Feather River Recreation and Park District the amount of $266,729 in 2002
Resources Bond Act, Per Capita Program, and further reduce Butte County's total Per Capita
Allocation under this grant program from $595,268 to $328,539.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of
Supervisors hereby authorizes the Chief Administrative Officer to execute an amendment to
Butte County's contract with the California Department of Parks and Recreation to allow the
pass through to the Paradise Recreation and Park District the amount of $224,969 in 2002
Resources Bond Act, Per Capita Program, and further reduce Butte County's total Per Capita
Allocation under this grant program from $328,539 to $103,570.
NOW, THEREIORE, BE IT FUK1'HER RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of
Supervisors hereby authorizes the Chief Administrative Officer to execute an amendment to
Butte County's contract with the California Department of Parks and Recreation to allow the
pass through to the Durham Recreation and Park District the amount of $36,656 in 2002
Resources Bond Act, Per Capita Program, and further reduce Butte County's total Per Capita
Allocation under this grant program from $103,570 to $66,914.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FUKTHER RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of
Supervisors hereby authorizes cities and recreation and park districts receiving pass through
Proposition 40 funds fi•om the County to submit their project applications directly to the
California Department of Parks and Recreation.

October 2004 by the following vote:
