A RESOLUTION OF THE BUTTE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS APPROVING
THE ALLOCATION (PASS THROUGH) OF BUTTE COUNTY'S ROBERTI-Z'BERG-
HARRIS BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM FUNDS UNDER THE CALIFORNIA CLEAN
WATER, CLEAN AIR, SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS, AND COASTAL
PROTECTION ACT OF 2002 TO THE CHICO AREA RECREATION AND PARK
DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the CALIFORNIA
CLEAN WATER, CLEAN AIR, SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS, AND COASTAL
PROTECTION ACT OF 2002 which provides funds for the Roberti-Z'Berg-Harris Block Grant
Program for grants to eligible Applicants; and
WHEREAS, the California Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the
responsibility for the administration of the program within the State, setting up necessary
procedures; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the California Department of Parks and
Recreation require the Grantee to certify by resolution the approval of application(s) before
submission of said application(s) to the State; and
WHEREAS, on October 26, 2004, the Board of Supervisors approved a Resolution
certifying the Board of Supervisors' approval for Butte County to apply for the Roberti-Z'Berg-
Harris Block Grant funds; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors desires to share all of its $323,456 allocation of
2002 Resources Bond Act (Proposition 40) Roberti-Z'Berg-Harris Block Grant Funds with the
eligible city and park and recreation district that are located within the geographical boundaries
of Butte County; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors' approval of this resolution will initiate a process
allowing cities and park and recreation districts to submit their project applications directly to the
State Department of Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors wishes to reduce the amount of Roberti-Z'Berg-
Han-is Block Grant funds available to the County of Butte from $323,456 to $ 0 to reflect the
pass-through of $161,728 to the City of Chico and $161,728 to the Chico Area Recreation and
Park District.
NOW, THEREFORE, BH; IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors
hereby authorizes the Chief Administrative Officer to execute an amendment to Butte County's
contract with the California Department of Parks and Recreation to allow the pass through to the
Chico Area Recreation and Park District the amount of $161,728 in 2002 Resources Bond Act
Roberti-Z'Berg-Harris Block Grant Allocation, and reduce Butte County's total Roberti-Z'Berg-
Harris Block Grant Allocation under this grant program from $161,728 to $0.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of
Supervisors hereby authorizes the Chico Area Recreation and Park District to submit their
project applications relating to Proposition 40 funds received as a pass through from the County
of Butte directly to the California Department of Parks and Recreation.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 26`" day of
October 2004 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Houx, Josiassen, Yamaguchi and Chair Beeler
