RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF JOHN B. BUTLER
UPON RETIREMENT FROM THF. DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
WHEREAS, John B. Butler, Supervising Road Maintenance Worker for the Department of
Public Works, announced his retirement as of November 2, 2004; and
WHEREAS, John B. Butler began his career with the County of Butte in 1973, as a Laborer, in
the I~cpartment of Public Works, advancing within the Department, to become a Supervising Road
Maintenance Worker, his present position; and
WHEREAS, John B. Butler worked as a Laborer, Disposal Site Attendant, Refuse Disposal
attendant, Road Maintenance Aide, Road Maintenance Worker I, II and III, Lead Road Maintenance
Worker, and Supervising Road Maintenance Worker in the Public Works Department for many years; and
WHEREAS, John B. Butler has earned the respect of fellow employees, engineers, surveyors,
contractors, and others involved in Public Worla activities in Butte County, and has diligently served the
residents of the County of Butte for nearly thirty-one (31) years with extraordinary distinction and
leadership;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVEll, that this Board, on its own behalf and on behalf of
the residents of the County of Butte, wish to express to John B. Butler sincere appreciation for his many
years of unselfish dedication and outstanding service rendered to the residents of the County of Butte, and
further tivish him well on his retirement.
PASSEL) AND ADOP'1 ED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, this 26°i day of October 2004, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Houx, Josiassen, Yamaguchi and Chair Beeler
