the Butte Ccxmty Sheriff`s OIfice.
Whereas, FI,(~I'I~ 1,. hlRh, .IR. began his law entbrcement oarcer with the Butte County Sherilhs Of~licc as a
ReserF~e Deputy in 1972. In l~chruai-~- l 996 he was hired as a full lime Deputy ShcriiT and assigned as a I3ailiff at the
Chico Courthouse. 1)LI'('TF 1i112~~ has worked successiially in many dil7urent assignments in his career, including
Patrol Court Security, and Incarcerations. 1)lu-ing the 1970'x, Uf~'YUTF f~IRh assisted in the capture of several high-
protile murder- suspects. 1)>`:'Yt'7'}~ h"/IZ~" teas commended by the },~I31 fur his assistance in the capture ~>f a suspect who
had shot a clerk during a rohheiv in Oregon in ~ 976. Since 1993, ULPI:`TF 1:IRI: has been managing the "Sheriff`s
Pancake I3reakfasts~~_ a well-known community sen~ice. DI,"Pt'T3~ t,"tRT~~ has ~3~orkud with the current sheriff, Pc;rrv_
Rcnifl~, and fanner Sheriff's, Scott Mackcruic and Mick tree in this endeave~r. I~EPt.'TF hIRL' has distinguished
himself <is a hard-working and dedioatcd I)eput~~ Sheriff and~has provided a safe tic«rk environment fur Judge l~an-eIl
Stevens and the court stall at the Chico Ccxirthouse, during the past ten years.
Whereas, after sciti~ing the citi~.cns of l3uttc County fur 31 years, t~Z(9}~l~ L. f~IfZ1.~, J1Z. is retit7ng on November 1, 2004.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED be the Board of Supervisors cm its ~~wn behalf, and on hchalfoi`
