HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-214. : "..: , *~ GUI~I~TY QF 1~3UTTE, STATE QF C~LI~`©I~NfA r~Ttyi.~~ Resolution No. oa-2i4 RESOLUTION CONFIRMING AND INCREASING THE CHANGE FUND UTILIZED BY THE TAX COLLECTION DIVISION OF THE BUTTE COUNTY TREASURER-TAX COLLECTOR'S DEPARTMENT (GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 29320 et seq.) WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors has determined that, for the efficient operation of the Butte County Treasurer-Tax Collector Department, Change Funds are necessary; and WHEREAS, the Government Code of the State of California, Sections 29320 et seq., provides for the establishment of such funds in amounts to be determined by the Board of Supervisors; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors authorized the Treasurer-Tax Collector to establish a change fund in the amount of $200 by minute order on July 6, 1976; and WHEREAS, the Tax Collections Division of the Butte County Treasurer-Tax Collector Department has determined that increasing its Change Fund from $200.00 to $500.00 is necessary for the efficient operation of the division. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, as follows: 1. That increasing the Tax Collector Change Fund from $200.00 to $500.00 would allow the Tax Collection Division to operate four cash drawers consisting of $125.00 each. 2. That this Fund is established in accordance with Sections 29320 et seq. of the Government Code of the State of California, and that certified copies of the resolution shall be transmitted to the Butte County Treasurer and Auditor- Controller. 3. That the Chief Administrative Officer and Risk Manager are instructed pursuant to Section 29323 of the Government Code to amend by endorsement the blanket fidelity bond of the county to be conditioned in addition to its other provisions, upon the faithful administration of the Change Funds and upon the willingness and ability of the principal for whom such funds have been established to account for and pay over the funds upon demand of the Board of Supervisors at any time. 4. The Auditor-Controller of the County of Butte is hereby authorized and directed to draw a warrant in the sum of $300.00 in favor of the Butte County Treasurer-Tax Collector Department for deposit into the Butte County Treasurer-Tax Collector Department's Tax Collector Change Fund. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, on the November 30, 2004, by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Houx, Yamaguchi and Chair Beeler NOES: None ABSENT: Supervisor Josiassen NOT VOTING: None -~ ~ ;~-~~ R.
