SIMPSON UPON RETIREMENT FROM THE BUTTE COUN"fY DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S OFFICE, WHEREAS, Kristin J. Simpson, District Attorney Chief Investigator for the Butte County District Attorney's Office, announced her retirement as of December 30, 2004; and WHEREAS, Kristin J. Simpson began her law enforcement career in September 1973and has served as a police officer in the Stanford University Department of Public Safety, the Palo Alto Police Department and the Chico Police Department; and as a deputy sheriff in the Santa Cruz County Sheriffs Office; and as a police sergeant in the Stanford University Department of Public Safety; and WHEREAS, Kristin J. Simpson became an employee of the County of Butte in 1984, as a Welfare Fraud Investigator, with the Butte County Welfare Department and in December 1986 came to the Butte County District Attorney's Office as a District Attorney Investigator, advancing within the Department to become a District Attorney Senior Investigator and then District Attorney Chief Investigator; and WHEREAS, Kristin J. Simpson distinguished herself in the field ofchild abuse and sexual assault investigation as a District Attorney Investigator and was instrumental in the development of the Butte County Child Abuse Response "heam; and WHEREAS, Kristin J. Simpson has diligently and faithfu]ly served the residents of the County of Butte for twenty (20) years with pride and distinction. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors, on its own behalf and on behalf of the residents of the County of Butte, wish to express to Kristin J. Simpson sincere appreciation for her many years of unselfish dedication and outstanding service rendered to the residents of the County of Butte, and further wish her well on her retirement.
