RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION ON REGINA ELLENA
UPON RF_.TIREMENT FROM
BUTTE COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Regina F,llena has announced her retirement as of December 30, 2004; and
WHEREAS, Regina Ellena graduated tivith a Bachelors of Science From Simmons
College in Boston in 1965. Regina continued her education and earned a Masters health Science
from Iniversity of California, Davis, in 1984, and a Masters of Public Health from Loma Linda
University in June. 2000; and
WHEREAS, Regina Ellena became a Public I-Iealth Education Assistant Ior the Public
health Department in .Ianuary of 1972. Regina earned promotions to Health hducation Program
Coordinator and Health Education Supervisor. In August 2001, Regina accepted a position as
r'~dministrative Analyst III with the Rutte County Children and families Commission, and in
:august 2002, she became the coordinator for the Public Health Bioten~orism Program; and
~'4'HEREAS, Regina Ellena has served as an invaluable resource for the Department and
the conununity in the area of Public Health. Iler experience, knowledge, and ability to
communicate and educate have strengthened the delivery of public. health services in Butte
County. She has earned recognition, locally and statewide, for her leadership roles in educating,
the community and changing attitudes about chronic and communicable diseases, vehicle safety,
environmental issues, the use of tobacco products and second hand smoke, and disaster
preparedness and planning; and
VVHERE.aS, Regina Ellena has been an energetic, dedicated and well respected public
health professional.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors wishes to
express to Regina Ellena sincere appreciation for her 33 years of dedication and service to Butte
County, and further, wishes her well on her retirement.

December 2004 by the following vote:
