RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING
'I'IIE OROVILLE SUNRISE RO'CARY
WIIEREAS, in accordance with Government Code Section ?5355, the Board of Supervisors is
authorized to accept any gift made to the county, and
WHERIs'AS, Rotary International is a worldwide organization of business and professional
Iciders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps
build goodwill and peace in the world, and
WHEREAS, Rotary International is celebrating it's Centennial on February 23, ?005, and
WHEREAS, the Oroville Sunrise Rotary chose as their Centennial Project to install a children's
play area at the Oroville Community F,mployment Center at 78 Table Mountain Blvd., and
WHEREAS, the Oroville Sunrise Kotary chose this project to enable children in foster care to
visit with their families in a more home-like setting in order to help strengthen and reunite families, and
WHEREAS, the Oruville Sunrise Rotary spent three years, including numerous Saturday
mornings, fund raising, painting murals, building picnic tables, benches and installing rubber maC flooring
and playground equipment for children in foster care, and
WHEREAS, the County of Butte wishes to acknowledge and thank the Oroville Sunrise Rotary
for the generous donation of a pla~~ area that has enhanced the lives of foster children and their families.
I3E IT FURTIIEK RESOLVED that:
The Board of Supervisors accepts the donation of various materials and supplies and the
following lixed asset equipment:
Rubber mat flooring for the play area valued at $6,000
Playground equipment valued at $6,000
Various materials and supplies valued at $1,000
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 8`" day of February
?005 by the followin~~ vote:
