RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING MAY 2005 AS OLDER AMERICANS MONTH
WHEREAS, the Administration on Aging has announced that May 2005 has been
designated as Older Americans Month; and
WHEREAS, the Administration on Aging has further announced that the theme of
Older Americans Month will be "Celebrate Long-Term Living;" and
WHEREAS the designation and theme serve to celebrate and recognize older
Americans who are living longer, healthier, and more productive lives; and
WHEREAS, Butte County is home to more than 40,000 citizens aged 60 years or
older; and
WHEREAS, Butte County is home to more than 4,200 citizens aged 85 years or
older; and
WHEREAS, Butte County wishes to acknowledge and honor the valuable
contributions of its older citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of
Supervisors hereby proclaims its support and recognition of Older Americans Month.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 10`" day of
May 2005 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Dolan, Houx, Josiassen and Chair Yamaguchi
NOES: None
ABSENT: None ,
NOT VOTING: None ~'
