RESOLUTION APPROVING ADOPTION OF CANINE
TO BE UTILIZED AS A CANINE OFFICER
WHEREAS, Butte County adopts and recognizes one Belgian Malinois dog named
"Justus." Said dog shall be used by the Butte County Sheriff's Office as a member of the canine
unit; and
WHEREAS, Deputy David Ennis will be Justus's handler and partner upon acceptance.
The County will provide all liability coverage, food and medical care for Justus; and
WHEREAS, Justus shall reside with Deputy Ennis and shall be deputized upon Board of
Supervisor acceptance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors, on its own
behalf, and on behalf of the residents of the County of Butte, that said Board will adopt Justus as
a canine officer for the Butte County Sheriff's Office.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors on this 24`h day of
May 2005 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Dolan, Houx, Josiassen and Chair Yamaguchi
NOES: None
ASSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None - ~ .
