OF SUPERVISORS @UTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA Resolufion No. os-loo RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING AUGUST 2005 AS CHILD SUPPORT AWARENESS MONTH WHEREAS, children are our most precious resource and become healthy, productive, and well-adjusted adults through the support and nurturing of their families; and WHEREAS, California's child support program provides an important opportunity for non-custodial parents to be a positive force in the lives of their children, serving 2 million children in 2004; and WHEREAS, the Butte County child support services agency provides critical services to children and families ensuring children have the opportunity to reach their full potential as productive adults and members of our community; and WHEREAS, although many non-custodial parents are concerned parents that willingly provide emotional and financial support for their children, California and Butte County must continue to encourage even more non-custodial parents to assume and embrace their parental responsibilities; and WHEREAS, child support services are available, without charge, to all County residents through the Butte County Department of Child Support Services; and WHEREAS, California and Butte County are strongly committed to seeking ways to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of its Child Support Program by implementing innovative programs and systems; and WHEREAS, California and Butte County's child support program put "children first." NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Butte County Board of Supervisors does hereby proclaim August 2005 as "Child Support Awareness Month" in Butte County. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, on this 2nd day of August 2005 by the following votes: AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Dolan, Houx, Josiassen and Chair Yamaguchi NOES: None ABSENT: None NOT VOTING: None - _ ~,% ;' ~ ~ KIM K.
