RESOLUTION TO APPROVE PROPOSED CONTRACT FOR SERVICES AS
PROVIDED UNDER THE JUNE 29, 2005 JOINT MEMORANDUM OF
UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CALIFORNIA STATE WATER RESOURCES
BOARD, THE CENTRAL VALLEY REGIONAL WATER QUALITY CONTROL
BOARD, THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF PESTICIDE REGULATION AND
THE AGRICULTURAL COMMISSIONERS OF BUTTE AND GLENN COUNTIES
WHEREAS, the State Water Resources Control Board California Regional Water
Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region has proposed a contract with the Butte County
Agricultural Commissioner for services to be provided in support of the Irrigated Lands
Conditional Waiver Program as provided by the joint Memorandum of Understanding; and
WHEREAS, California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region
shall set water quality priorities and provide general direction to the Commissioner for the
activities to be performed in support of the Irrigated Lands Program; and
WHEREAS, the Agricultural Commissioner of Butte County (Commissioner) agrees to
provide to the Regional Board the services described in proposed contract; and
WHEREAS, the Butte County Agricultural Commissioner agrees under the terms of the
proposed contract to provide program support (equal to .5 personnel year (PY) in the Irrigated
Lands Conditional Waiver Program by providing inspections of watershed monitoring locations,
assisting in identifying sources of water quality exceedances, providing information on
watershed activities (pesticide applications, construction, restorations, etc.), and
conducting/coordinating public education and outreach programs concerning Irrigated Lands
Program, its requirements, and management practices to protect water quality; and
WHEREAS, the term of the contract shall be July 1, 2005, through June 30, 2006. The
amount of the contract shall not exceed $67,860.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Butte County Board of
Supervisors approves the proposed contract with the State Water Resources Control Board,
California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region and authorizes the
Agricultural Commissioner to sign the contract.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 8`h day of
November 2005 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Dolan, Houx, Josiassen and Chair Yamaguchi
