HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-145~,. o~•svp,~••.. .~ •......,. ~p .. ~•~~ ..•• ~ ,,• ~ •~' = •sNp ~, ~' ~'' = ~ ~ *~ :~° ~ ' BOARD OF S~J PE RVI~ORS ~.'~': ~,4r ,:'N~.•` Q" • • • COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE Of CALIFORNIA ~~~ ?'~~'••~......•••'~•~ G~•~ Resolution NO. 05-145 ••t~~~rrr~~~ RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO NEGOTIATE AND ENTER INTO AGREEMENT FOR ACQUISITION OF REAL PROPERTY FOR PUBLIC ROAD PURPOSES AND AGREEMENTS FOR ROADWAY AND STORM DRAINAGE EASEMENTS FOR THE SPEEDWAY AVENUE EXTENSION PROJECT, COUNTY PROJECT NUMBER 50255C-99-1, AND ASSOCIATED STATE ROUTE 99 FRONTAGE ROAD EXTENSION PROJECT, COUNTY PROJECT NUMBER 50255C-2005-1 WHEREAS, the final report of the State Route 99/Soartlagute Aveaaue Interchcarage carol Circulation Stucly, dated October 1999, as prepared by Fehr & Peers Associates for the Butte County Association of Governments (BCAG) was accepted by the Butte County Board of Supervisors on January 25, 2000; and WHEREAS, the final report of the State Roane 99/Soi.itlzgate Avejttse lrltercl2u~rge ajid Cir~culutiaa Stuch~, dated October 1999, as accepted, identified interim improvements, including the extension of Speedway Avenue to State Route 99 Frontage Road (Entler Avenue) and the extension of the State Route 99 Frontage Road to Country Lane, to address future roadway circulation deficiencies in the south Chico State Route 99 corridor; and WHEREAS, the Speedway Avenue Extension Project and the State Route 99 Frontage Road Extension Project appear on the County of Butte Capital Improvement Project (CIP) List and the list of projects in the Chico Urban Area Traffic Impact Fee Nexus Study, as approved by the Butte County Board of Supervisors; and WHEREAS, the Butte County Department of Public Works is charged with the responsibility for studying, recommending, constructing, and maintaining improvements within the system of County of Butte roadways and has obtained environmental clearance for these projects as required under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines; and WHEREAS, the Butte County Department of Public Works has determined that the most expeditious method of clearing title and acquiring right of way for these projects along the abandoned Southern Pacific Railroad Right of Way is for the right of way acquisition to be processed by the Butte County Department of Public Works staff. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, in order to expedite the acquisition of the right of way required for these projects, authorizes the Director of Public Works to negotiate a~1d sign the Agreement for Acquisition of Real Property for Road Purposes, Agreement for Roadway Easements, and Agreement for Storm Drainage Easements for the Speedway Avenue Extension Project, County Project No. 50255C-99-1, and associated State Route 99 Frontage Road Extension Project, County Project No. 50255C-2005-1.
