RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING
EMPLOYMENT & ELIGIBILITY STAFF WEEK
IN BUTTE COUNTY
WHEREAS, poverty and the accompanying symptoms of hunger, sickness,
homelessness and erosion of freedom and independence are serious problems for thousands of
Butte County residents; and
WHEREAS, Employment Services & Eligibility staff are required to perform a
multitude of tasks on a daily basis that require skills in psychology, business, casework and the
use of compassion in dealing with those citizens who rely on public assistance; and
WHEREAS, Employment Services & Eligibility staff in Butte County promote a
superior level of service to the citizens of Butte County and to fellow workers by providing
excellent customer service and preserving the dignity of children, families and adults; and
WHEREAS, Employment Services & Eligibility staff are faced with a constantly
changing, eomplex array of federal, state and county programs, yet have maintained superior
professional results and delivered outstanding services; and
WHEREAS, Employment Services & Eligibility staff are continually working to
improve their knowledge and expertise; and
WHEREAS, Employment Services & Eligibility staff are assisted in the performance of
their duties by a variety of highly-skilled administrative support and supervisory staff; and
WHEREAS, it is important that alI citizens of Butte County recognize the important
services which Employment Case Managers & Eligibility staff provide to citizens throughout our
county, state and nation.
NOW, THEREFORE, SE TT RESOLVED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors
that the county honors its Employment Services & Eligibility staff, Supervisors and
Administrative Support staff by proclaiming January 22 through January 28, 200b, as
Employment & Eligibility Staff Recognition Week in Butte County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 10~' day of
January 2006 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Bonnelly, Dolan, Houx, ~amaguclii and Chazr :7osiassen
NOES: None
ABSENT: Nane
