Resolution No.
WHEREAS, Butte County receives over 5,000 allegations of child abuse and neglect
annually and over seven hundred are in out-of home placement in Butte County in any one month;
and
WHEREAS, the Frank Wafters Children's Tn.~st Fund, a fund made up entirely of
donations from the community, allows Butte County citizens to make tax deductible donations to
help prevent child abuse and neglect when they pay their property taxes; and
WHEREAS, Chico Enterprise Record, through their continued commitment to the
community regarding the importance of contributions to the Frank Wafters Children's Trust Fund;
and
WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors recognizes the outstanding efforts of
Chico Enterprise Record.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors,
on its own behalf and on behalf of the residents of Butte County, wishes to send heartfelt thanks
and appreciation to Chico Enterprise Record for their continuing support of Butte County's efforts
to prevent child abuse and neglect.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 10th day of
3anuary 2006 by the following vote:
