HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-046ti:- RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING NATIONAL PUBLIC HEALTH WEEK AS APRIL 3-7, 2006 WHEREAS, a clean bill of health is one of life's most precious gifts; and WHEREAS, now more that ever public health programs and services are needed so that we can ensure the best possible health for everyone; and WHEREAS, locally individuals are working to build healthier communities and to raise healthier children; and WHEREAS, the Butte County Public Health Department works to meet the needs of a diverse population, plans appropriate responses to natural disasters, educates individuals about health hazards and encourages responsible behavior in all that we do; and WHEREAS, the Butte County Public Health Department will conduct activities April 3rd through April 6'~', in observance of National Public Health Week, to feature services that assist residents in building a healthier community and in raising healthier children; and WHEREAS, Public Health Week 2006 is dedicated in memory of Sherry Roney, Butte County Environmental Health Specialist, Senior, for her inspiration and devotion in the planning of this year's .Public Health Week activities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to a Presidential proclamation made on March 13, 1995, that declared the frst week of April as National Public Health Week. NOW, THEREFORE, BE )<T RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors hereby honors and commends the Butte County Public Health Department for their efforts in assisting residents to build a healthier community and to help individuals raise healthier children.
