HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-061Resolution No. o6-a~~ RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF NATIONAL VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION WEEK 2006 WHEREAS, the Butte County Fire Department would like to recognize the contributions of two dedicated groups o€ volunteers in honor of National Volunteer Week, 200fi, and WHEREAS, the Butte County Fire Department Citizen Volunteer Firefighters number over 170 and augment fire, medical and rescue response to their neighbors in 19 Butte County communities, and WHEREAS, the Butte County Fire DepartmentlCDF "Volunteers In Prevention" (VIP's) spend hundreds of hours annually performing fire prevention programs, school and community events and home fire safety inspections in fire prone areas of Butte County, WHEREAS, the citizen volunteerfirefighters and VIP's are integral parts ofthe Butte County Fire Department making it the largest ful! service fire department between Sacramento and Eugene, Oregon, and WHEREAS, the efforts of these volunteer groups have helped save lives and property through their emergency response and fire prevention efforts, and WHEREAS, the sacrifice and dedication of these volunteers does not go unnoticed by career members of the fire department and the citizens they serve, NOW, THEREFORE, BE lT RESOLVED, that the Butte County Board of Supervisors and the Butte County Fire Department recognize and thank the volunteer firefighters and Volunteers In Prevention for their role in carrying out the fire department's mission of service to the citizens of Butte County.
