Why is this facility needed This facility is needed to continue to provide emergency services to the citizens of the unincorporated areas of Butte County. The existing facility (early 1940's woad framed structure) is in very poor condition (dry rot, maid, termites, etc}, and is basically falling apart. Description of the new facility and Service Area The new fire station facility will be roughly a 2,200 square foot living facility and will be built in the same location as the old facility. The facility will have all required amenities for modern living quarters. We will also be building a separate 450 square foot hose repair and storage building. We are Curren#ly looking at architectural firms to design the facility. Specific design and building construction type will be determined during the design phase with the architects. The building is expected to be constructed of long lasting commercial quality materials to last at least 50 years. The building will meet Essential Services standards as well as Americans with Disabilities requirements. It is expected to be equipped with fire sprinklers and an emergency back up electrical generator. Type of loan security This loan will be secured by a certificate of participation and repaid from the Butte County general fund. Exis#ing long term debtlannual payments We will have no other debt/annual payments associated with this project.
