PERMANENT ROAD DIVISION
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Permanent Road Division Law (Streets and
Highways Code Sections 1160 through 1197), the Board of Supervisors is authorized to establish a
permanent road division as a method for providing road construction, improvement and maintenance
services by the County within the entire unincorporated area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
It is the intention of the Board of Supervisors to establish a permanent road division for
the entire unincorporated area of the County pursuant to Streets and Highways Code
Section 1162.6.
2. The name proposed for such permanent road division is the BUTTE COUNTY
PERMANENT ROAD DNISION.
3. The services to be provided within the Division are the construction, improvement and
maintenance, or any one or combination thereof, of any highway, including, but not
limited to drainage, landscaping, pedestrian and bike trail facilities, or other facilities
incidental to a highway. "Highway" means any county road or highway or any public
roadway right of way or any private easement or roadway not accepted or acceptable into
the county highway system but upon which a permanent public easement is offered or
any privately owned road which meets the requirements of and in connection with which
the necessary findings of Section 969.5 of the Streets and Highways Code can be made:
4. The boundary of the proposed Division is the entire unincorporated area of Butte County
and will automatically exclude areas that incorporate or annex to incorporated cities.
The time and place for the public hearing on the establishment of the Division, which shall be
not less than seven days after the publication of the hearing notice, shall be 3une 27, 2006, at 10:30
a.m., Board of Supervisors Chambers, 25 County Center Drive, Oroville, CA 95965.

OFFICIAL NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TO CONSIDER ESTABLISHING THE BUTTE COUNTY PERMANENT ROAD DIVISION
Notice is hereby given by the BUTTE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS that a public hearing will be
held on Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at 10;30 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors Room, County
Administration Building, 25 County Center Drive, Oroville, California, to consider establishing the
Butte County Permanent Road Division, acounty-wide permanent road division.
At the hearing, county stafF will present information regarding the Butte County Permanent Road
Division. The testimony of all interested persons for or against the proposed Butte County
Permanent Road Division will be heard. Prior to or during the hearing any interested parties may
submit comments for or against the proposed Butte County Permanent Road Division. All comments
must be submitted to and received by the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors at 25 County Center
Drive, Oroville, CA 95965 prior to the close of the hearing.

Division, please call the Department of Public Works at (530) 538-7266, Monday through Friday, 7:30
a.m. through 4:00 p.m.
