RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE
IN FAVOR OF THE NONIINATION OF SHARON AND PAT GORE
FOR THE CALIFORNIA LEOPOLD CONSERVATION AWARD
WHEREAS, Sharon and Pat Gore have shown civic leadership and commitment to the
landowners and agricultural producers of Butte County throughaut their long professional
cazeers; and
WHEREAS, Sharon and Pat Gore have managed successful and creative conservation
practices on their private agricultural lands that demonstrate a land stewardship ethic uniquely
worthy of public recognition; and
WHEREAS, Sharon Gore's voluntary work was an essential driving force in the
formation of the Butte County Resource Conservation District in 2002; and
WHEREAS, the citizens and landowners of Butte County and the State of California will
benefit from the services of the Butte County Resource Conservation District for generations to
come;
WHEREAS, The Board of Directors of the Butte County Resource Conservation District
unanimously voted to nominate Shaoon and Pat Gore for the California Leopold Conservation
Award to be presented by the Sand County Foundation in partnership with Sustainable
Conservation and the California Farm Bureau Federation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Boazd of Supervisors of the
County of Butte hereby determines that they support the Butte County Resource Conservation
District's nomination of Sharon and Pat Gore for the California Leopold Conservation Award.
The Gore family is uniquely qualified for the Leopold Conservation Award for their unequaled
dedication and outstanding contribution to the conservation of our natural resources through
public service in Butte County and throughout the State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this thirteenth day
of June 200b by the following votes:
